General Characteristics
Alloy DS / Incoloy DS® (W-Nr. 1.4862) Alloy DS is a nickel-iron-chromium alloy with added silicon, designed to enhance oxidation resistance. This alloy offers excellent high-temperature strength, along with good resistance to oxidation and carburization.
Its stable austenitic microstructure allows it to withstand prolonged exposure to elevated temperatures without losing its mechanical properties.
Applications include:
- Industrial furnaces, due to its resistance to extreme temperatures
- Furnace baskets, where thermal stability is essential
- Trays and fixtures for heat treatment equipment used in metallurgical processes
Thanks to these properties, Incoloy DS is a benchmark material in industries where high-temperature durability and oxidation resistance are critical.
