HOW INCONEL ALLOY 625 AND INCONEL ALLOY C-276 HELP IN POLLUTION CONTROL AND WASTE PROCESSING

INCONEL alloys are important products within the pollution control and waste processing industries, able to withstand some of the most extreme industrial environments. Pollution control and waste processing is an essential industry, and one that has rigorous standards to meet. As such, the materials used in the building of new plants, or in repairing, restoring

INCONEL ALLOY 22 VS ALLOY C276: WHICH SHOULD YOU CHOOSE?

Corrosion is the enemy of metal components. The elevated corrosion resistance of nickel alloys is just one reason they’re an outstanding choice for critical, high-stress and/or high-temperature applications where component failure can prove catastrophic. But even among this top-performing group, some alloys stand out. Today we’re taking a look at two very similar alloys that

EXPLORING NICKEL AND ITS USE IN METAL ALLOYS

We take an in-depth look at the element and why it proves so useful in producing high-quality alloys All of the metal alloys that are supplied by BSW Metals have nickel as a key component part. This ranges from commercially pure nickel, through INCONEL, INCOLOY and MONEL alloys, which each have a difference percentage of nickel in their makeup. The chemical

BEST CORROSION-RESISTANT NICKEL ALLOYS FOR USE IN HEAT EXCHANGERS

Heat exchangers are found in both large-scale industrial processing plants and everyday appliances alike. We look at these systems in more detail, as well as the best nickel alloys available for heat-exchanger use. Some of the most important components in many industrial applications are heat exchangers. These are systems that are designed to transfer heat

What is precipitation hardening?

Precipitation hardening is a heat treatment process applied to various alloys to significantly increase their yield strength. The process of solution annealing is applied to most alloys after their final forging or rolling process. By holding the particular alloy at a relatively high temperature for several hours – typically around 1000degC – all of the

ANNEALING : What it is and how it works

If you read the technical literature around nickel alloys, you will often come across the term “annealing” or “annealed”. But what does it actually mean? In the simplest terms, annealing is a common heat treatment process applied to metals, including nickel alloys. The purpose is to soften the metal, reduce stress and increase ductility after

Working with nickel-based superalloys – here’s what you need to know

Working with a nickel-based superalloy can take skill and practice to perfect. Here are some tips and advice Nickel-based superalloys combine high strength with exceptional corrosion resistance. These super properties make them a popular material of choice across numerous industries. The INCONEL family of products has been specifically designed to handle the most extreme of environments. Now

High Temperature Nickel Alloys

Nickel is the fifth most common element on earth, but its use was limited commercially until the last century due to the difficulties in extracting and refining it. Since that time, the development of the jet engine was a major catalyst for the development of nickel-based alloys, in order to provide metals that could combine

Uses of INCOLOY alloy 825 in the chemicals industry

When it comes to the volatile environments of chemical processing, consider INCOLOY alloy 825 as your go-to material An incredibly versatile and useful material,INCOLOY Alloy 825 is routinely used across the chemicals industry. When it comes to handling and processing chemicals, there are many challenges. Chemicals, by their very nature, can be highly corrosive and the

Product focus – INCOLOY Alloy 800H / 800HT

We take a look at the INCONEL alloy 800 series, in particular the INCOLOY Alloy 800H and 800HT variants, which offer significantly higher creep and rupture strength over their predecessor The INCOLOY alloy 800 series is a range of specialist alloys specifically designed to meet a need in the market for a material that can
